A stunning pair of banded agate earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of soft 12kt yellow gold, each earrings features a large banded agate stone set within a closed back bezel setting. The stones are set within a beautifully ornate twisted wirework and etched frame and hang from "X" shaped links which carry a complimentary design. The banded agate stones are polished smooth and have a deep brownish black color with a white and grey band encircling the outside of the stone. At the top of each earring is a single gold bead surmount which attaches to a simple wire. When worn, the earrings look fabulous and make a lovely statement! They would make a perfect addition to any collection.
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2" long, are 3/4" across at their widest point and have a thickness of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the banded agate stones, which are intact. The gold earring wires are both secure and in good condition.
